Bruno Maag Gallery Promotional Poster

Challenge: Select a designer, research their work, and create a promotional poster for their gallery event. This poster must include the designer’s name, location and date of event, as well as the gallery’s website, and share a similar aesthetic to the designer and their work.

Solution: I visited Bruno Maag’s studio website in order to gain perspective on his job, which is a type designer. I incorporated elements such as Maag’s studio logo, active kerning, and anchors and handles on the letter ‘a’ to emphasize Maag is a type designer. This poster especially followed guides to emphasize how precise a designer must be. I include the final draft on the top left, the first draft on the top right and my process sketches below. Design elements include typography and design.
